Service Engine - Area 01
Coverage that stays current, not a static expiry date.
Every warranty and AMC contract is tracked per unit. Coverage is recomputed as time passes, as service events land, and as contract terms are amended - never left frozen in a spreadsheet cell.
What this area does
Three things it gets right.
Per-unit coverage, not per-SKU
One serial, one contract, one status. Two identical units purchased on different days show two different coverage bars.
Live decay and re-computation
The pulse drains as days pass, and re-computes when a service event, extension, or amendment is written to the contract.
Multi-tier contracts supported
Standard warranty, extended warranty, AMC and comprehensive AMC coexist for the same unit, with the correct clause applying per event.
Worked example
One AC unit, install date in, coverage status out.
Product installed
12 Jul 2025
Split AC - Model X200, serial recorded.
Contract terms applied
365 days
Standard warranty + 24-month AMC on compressor.
Service events written
2 visits
Filter clean, coolant top-up. AMC clauses matched.
Coverage today
312 of 365 days
Live figure. Predictive alert armed for day-353.
A note on honesty. Contract tracking is a live computation, not a guarantee of coverage. Where a manufacturer or service company amends terms outside the engine, those amendments are honoured only once they are written back into the contract.
